My Secret Favorite Football Team

They fell victim to Elway and the Broncos in the ‘86 AFC Championship thanks to “The Drive”. “The Fumble” by Earnest Byner in the ‘87 AFC Title game tore all Browns fans’ hearts out and tortured them to death. However, I was still nearby for them and lent them my shoulder to sob on.
The Broncos were yet again headed to the big game in ‘89. In spite of this, my much-loved Cleveland Browns were no competition for the monsters from Denver. Cleveland fell into sorrow 37-21.
I toughed it out with them. I followed them through their unsuccessful days during the early 1980’s. Bill Belichick, the future builder of the New England Reign, was at the helm but couldn’t turn the sinking ship.
The day our love affair concluded was on November 16th, 1995. Art Modell drove a thorn into my Cleveland browns love affair. They packed up all of it and left without saying goodbye. One of the league’s initial franchises was currently playing in Baltimore, Maryland as the “Ravens.”
They gave a lot to my life. My friend and I had affable rivalries with the Browns and Steelers. Phone calls after Browns wins. Voodoo NFL cards after Rod Woodson was hurt. My comrade’s son altering his brown clothes during a playoff game, causing the Browns to implode. Dressed in Cleveland Browns apparel to a Patriots game and just about getting removed for it. Oh the nostalgia. We were good with one another.
Like an elderly flame, they came back to me in . The love affair fires were stoked yet again. Bless you Ed Lerner.
The Browns have always stayed on my football watchlist. My mistress was still in my thoughts as I cheered my New England Patriots to three Super Bowls. I always sought the greatest for them. I at all times wanted them to achieve success.
Romeo Crennel and Willie McGinest went to cause some of the title makeover allure. After a pleasing 2007, they began to restore the exhilaration when they caught my eye.
The honeymoon period soon concluded in 2008. The Browns posted a 4-12 season with a logjam at quarterback, the ball dropping of Edwards, and the nonexistence of a defense. I felt them. I treasured them behind closed doors of course.
Romeo was fired and Eric Mangini has been recruited. I don’t feel confident about Mr. Whistle Blower Mangini getting together with my mistress.
